Arflex
From the cobblestone streets of Milan in 1947 to the modern, contemporary spaces of our homes and offices, Arflex has left an indelible mark on the world of furniture design. An Italian firm that revolutionized the industry with its experiments and, with its dedication to research, has become a benchmark in furniture design.
Arflex and its Revolution in Italian Art and Design
It all began with a dream and the pioneering vision of a group of technicians and architect Marco Zanuso. They experimented with foam rubber and elastic tapes, perceiving in them an enormous potential for the manufacture of furniture. Breaking paradigms, Arflex managed to transcend and open a new perspective in the design and manufacture of furniture, cementing its reputation based on research and experimentation.
The turning point came in 1951, when Marco Zanuso’s Lady armchair was awarded the Triennale gold medal. This recognition underlined the avant-garde spirit of Arflex, a spirit that has only grown with each of its creations.
In 1961, the brand took a step forward and expanded its production into the world of office furniture. This new direction reflected Arflex’s desire to continue to innovate and expand the horizons of its creativity. Years later, the company was enriched with significant pieces from the history of Italian design, created by renowned designers such as Franco Albini and Cini Boeri.
Arflex is not just a brand, it is a hallmark of excellence and quality, recognized for its interest in experimentation and its desire to create products with high technological and aesthetic content. Its furniture speaks for itself, each piece a testament to its commitment to research and experimentation, each piece a reflection of the harmony between function and aesthetics.
