Crate Side Table

Originally designed in 1934 by Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld to reuse surplus wooden shipping crates, the Crate Collection has been relaunched in a collaboration between Rietveld Originals and HAY. Staying true to the original design, the Crate Side Table shares the same balanced proportions and transparent construction, aiming to minimize production costs and optimize the assembly process. Featuring a square tabletop and an additional storage shelf, the table’s simplicity and spatial design reflect the architect’s style, offering functionality and comfort without taking up unnecessary space. Made from solid pine with a water-based lacquer finish available in various colors, the Crate Side Table is suitable for a wide range of outdoor settings.
